How it works
From application to a safer service.
A free program period with a first review, ongoing monitoring and one follow-up. We set start and end dates once we confirm eligibility and capacity.
- 01
You apply.
Tell us your mission, the service at risk and who looks after it.
- An eligibility and public-benefit check, with a contact at your organisation
- 02
We review the service.
We look at the way in: logins, email, what's exposed and your backups.
- One critical digital service and its main entry points
- A review of logins, email, internet exposure and backups
- 03
You fix, we check.
You get practical steps in order. Then we review your fixes with you.
- A practical fix plan and one follow-up review of your fixes
- 04
We keep watch.
We monitor the service and tell your contact when something needs action.
- Ongoing monitoring of the service for the free program period, with alerts sorted and sent to your contacts

- Test a restore of the donor databaseNext
What we ask of you
- Your organisation, mission and nonprofit or public-benefit status
- The critical service you need to protect
- A responsible owner and written permission for any testing
- A contact who can coordinate fixes
- Monitoring access or data feeds, alert contacts and who to call when something is urgent
Limits
Free, with clear limits.
- 01
Accepted work is free. Admission and timing depend on eligibility, risk and our capacity.
- 02
Nonprofit Defence covers one service. It is not an unlimited retainer or a 24-hour incident response service.
- 03
We agree permission and safe methods before we test or change anything.
- 04
Monitoring covers the systems and signals we agree, for the free program period. We write down methods, triage hours and escalation times before it starts. Monitoring does not guarantee that an incident will be contained.
