Tooling approach

A workflow for tracing agent tools to the systems their credentials can reach. Use it to review access, ownership and the controls in between.

Example review summary. Routes the task doesn't need become changes, each with its own test.

In this note

From configuration to an access map.

  1. 01Collect

Gather tool definitions, identity policies and resource permissions within the scope you approved.

  2. 02Connect

Follow the credential behind each tool and the trust relationships it can use.

  3. 03Review

Mark unnecessary access, missing owners and routes that need runtime validation.

Inputs to the review.

InputWhat it contributes
Tool configurationDeclared actions, parameters and integrations.
Identity policyDirect grants, inherited roles and delegated scopes.
Resource policyRestrictions enforced by the destination service.
Network controlsReachability and boundaries between environments.

A useful output.

  • An access graph with the source of every permission.
  • A list of routes that exceed the task's requirements.
  • Control owners and proposed changes for review.
  • Tests to confirm that the change closes the route and preserves the intended workflow.

Use it in a change review.

Compare the access map before and after a new tool, role or integration. Ask which resources become reachable, which identity acts and where approval is enforced. Keep the approved map with the change record.

Availability and limits.

This page describes the review workflow. No software package or public repository is distributed here. Talk to us if you'd like an agent-access review. Static reachability still needs runtime validation for critical paths.

Illustrative review output.

This fictional output demonstrates the method. It was not generated by a released Seamline package.

Input
Deployment tool definition, workload role and resource policy.
Mapped route
release-tool → deployment-role → staging service; an inherited trust also reaches production.
Review decision
Separate staging and production roles. Keep production approval at the receiving service.
Verification
Staging deployment succeeds; unapproved production deployment is denied. Record the policy version and test conditions.

Basis and availability.

Seamline is the name of this documented review workflow. The sources are the configuration and permissions supplied for a scoped review, not an independently published dataset. There is no repository, install command or software licence to apply to a distributed package here.
